I started this venture when I was 22 years old and my husband (boyfriend at the time) was so busy with his own hobby that he kindly suggested I find my own niche. SOOOOOO....I googled around looking for volunteering at humane society or vets and realized it would be scooping poop all day...no thanks. I have one Sheltie and one miscellaneous tabby, I do enough scooping. Then something
Needless to say, my husband leaves to tend to his going ons, comes home asks "who's this?" I say, "it's my new hobby!" (quite excited) And 8 years later he loves my hobby as much I do, not to say there haven't been some struggles and "discussions" to come of it all.
Disclaimer: I am by no means a trained and certified professional. However I have pride in my work and I love what I do and have had great success and helped fellow fosters and new adopting families when they adopt my shy dogs. I've been a referral to other families who may have adopted shy dogs as well. I love to share what I've done and listen to what other methods there may be. The best way to learn to trial and error and share and listen. I am a typical adult in a small home and multiple pets whose husband and myself work 40 hours a week. So our methods help dogs and their families adjust to a realistic home setting for adoption.
Thank you all and enjoy!
